About

Hey. My name is Patrick Hunt. There are many so-named people in the world. So I chose J Patrick Hunt as my moniker. And I wanted a short URL, so “I’m J Patrick Hunt” became imj.ph. Which is poignant, since .ph is the top-level domain (TLD) for the Philippines, and my wife is Filipino (or “my wife is a Filipina”).

I’m an internet strategy, product development and user experience specialist. I currently serve as Director of Product Development and User Experience for the digital division of The E.W. Scripps Company, an $800 million local news company based in Cincinnati. I’m also a partner in an ambitious downtown Knoxville mixed-use development called Marble Alley, and a board member of a new microbrewery–Marble City Brewing Company–also in Knoxville. July 2011 marked the beginning of my sixth and last consecutive year as a member of the board of Knoxville’s Central Business Improvement District (CBID). I manage all these non-employment projects through Modern Sprocket LLC, a venture catalyst firm I created about four years ago. You can find links for all of the above at the top of my blog. I had a short stint as a blogger at The Apple Blog, and you can expect a heavy dose of Apple-related content on this site.

Most importantly, I’m husband to a wonderful wife and father to an amazing 5 year-old daughter.
